The Nine Grahas: Planets as Drives
Each graha names a distinct force, and its condition shows how that force behaves.
The nine grahas are more useful when read as drives than as characters floating somewhere outside you. The Sun presses toward coherence and visibility. The Moon seeks continuity and belonging. Mars separates and defends. Mercury connects, compares, and translates.
Condition before interpretation
A sign gives a drive its temperament; condition tells you whether it can act cleanly. Strength, combustion, dignity, aspect, and house context change the way the same placement is lived.
Do not ask only, “What sign is the planet in?” Ask, “What is this force able to do here?”
This is where chart reading slows down and becomes responsible. A single placement is evidence, not a conclusion.
